Thursday the 18th, I had a nice “farewell party” with a couple of my friends. We went to a Vietnamese restaurant. Poor Larry was the only “native” US American there for a couple of hours, but he had fun, too.

While he was discussing with Christian, Katrin, Volker and I figured out where I could make a PhD in.
Something with “apples”. We had so much fun, laughed about it for minutes and we will never can see an apple without immediately thinking of it. Angela came later, but she came. That what friends are for, Angie!
So I need to say goodbye and thank you for the wonderful times with you all. Hope to see you all over one month, and then we celebrate again.
Next morning to the Airport. Larry brought me there on his 70th birthday. The night before he didn’t tell us. Facebook told me today. I blame him for that. It is such a special day, the birthday. I sang for him, in English and Dutch together with Danny on Skype.

At the airport KLM told me, they need to wrap the wheelchair in, only 22$ more… And I waited half an hour for the person with the additional one. They refused to let me walk on my own. So the guy pushed me though half of the airport, we got lost, turned around, lost again, and so on. We had language issues. He was not really able to speak English in a
way that we could connect with each other. I should learn Indian as soon as possible I guess. Finally we found the right gate. While I was waiting to board, I used the public free airport wlan. So I was able to write the next article for my work. Nice thing is,they let me board first. No rows for me to wait. Sometimes it is nice to sit temporary in a wheelchair.

But the controls even to got to the plane. Why do I have to put my shoes off? Instead they didn’t even controlled the rest very well. I had have some batteries, Labello, inkt pens and also a knife with me, by accident.
They were complaining again about my heavy backpack. So they put him on the ground and pulled him. Not nice, theyare not that weak, come on! I told them the reason of it’s weight: united breaks guitars and KLM is losing the luggage. I would not put my notebook and the iPad into my trunk. No way. Need them at least at come and with me. No computer, no work.

On board I watched a couple of movies. Shame that I knew most of them. Started with Shrek, Slum Dog Millionaire (turned it off in the very begin ), The Wrestler (also nexted), Bounty Hunter, The Reader (insulting thing, book was also not that good but I remembered to late), How to Tame Your Dragon and Planet 51 (great one!).
First meal, after the additional peanuts, was chicken, vegetarian stuff was out. But they had Heineken. And cognac with the coffee. Who wants to live forever? Drunk above the clouds, let’s try this! I talked to one on the stewardesses, she speaks 6 languages : Italian, Spanish, French, English, German and Dutch. Gosh, I need to train more, feeling worthless. What makes me calm down is that she learned Romanian and Germania languages. So nothing exotic. Apparently, I have learned all of them too, but use it or lose it.

To cross the border to the Netherlands was pretty easy. I think he didn’t even read the passport. Inside the airport they drove me with a shiny sort of Golfcart. Pretty fast and it was lots of fun! The guy needed to drive another woman to an additional plane, so I was ordered to wait for him. He needed 20 min to get back to me, such a fail. My luggage passed on the baggage belt at least 5 times.
Nice that that have glass walls there, so the family shown up very early and soon. 2 hours later we were back in Groningen and I try to stay awake now. (And enjoying my Beck’s)
